The <strong>Clipper</strong> <strong>VL</strong> is a commercial grade<br />
and light industrial surge protection<br />
device (SPD) that combines surge<br />
suppression components and EMI/RFI<br />
filtering to provide effective protection<br />
for sensitive electronic loads. Surges<br />
(also known as transients) due to<br />
lightning, utility grid switching, switching<br />
of external/internal inductive or<br />
capacitive loads and other sources<br />
travel on power line conductors<br />
throughout the electrical distribution<br />
system that cause system operating<br />
problems and equipment downtime.<br />
Three surge current ratings are available<br />
to meet a variety of applications - the<br />
C<strong>VL</strong>050 (50 kA/phase), C<strong>VL</strong>080 (80<br />
kA/phase) and C<strong>VL</strong>100 (100 kA/phase).<br />
