Mark Ralph of The Gateshead
Housing Company joins local
teenagers at one of the Interface
Project health sessions.
Healthy future lies ahead
A health project for young people
in east Gateshead has been
boosted with funding from the
housing company and its partners.
The ‘Interface Project’ at Brandling
Hall Community Centre, Felling will
use the £5,000 grant to train young
people to educate others in the
area.
Over 200 young people will take
part in workshops led by trained
youngsters who will talk about
health issues.
It is hoped the project will help to
reduce antisocial behaviour, teenage
pregnancies and alcohol abuse in
and around the Felling area.
Mark Ralph of the housing
company’s Felling office, said: “We
wish every success to the young
people who will spread the good
health message to others in the
Felling area.”
Funding came from the housing
company’s Community Fund,
which is also supported by
Gateshead Council and Mears.
