Homes need foundations<br />
A <strong>Gateshead</strong> charity that provides<br />
low cost furniture to local families<br />
in need is ‘hitting the road’ to<br />
advertise its services.<br />
Teams-based Foundations Furniture<br />
Scheme aims to collect unwanted,<br />
but useable, furniture and then<br />
distribute it to people in need within<br />
the borough.<br />
The scheme’s newly-branded<br />
delivery van is now advertising the<br />
need for furniture to be donated, as<br />
well as its low cost furniture for sale<br />
and removals services.<br />
Linda Wilde, Shop Manager for the<br />
scheme, said: “We are always<br />
looking for donations of furniture<br />
and household items that will help<br />
others in the area.<br />
"For some people it may just be one<br />
or two items they need. Or for<br />
those who were previously homeless<br />
we can help furnish a house from<br />
top to bottom."<br />
The work of the charity is<br />

Churches Together, <strong>Gateshead</strong><br />
Council and The <strong>Gateshead</strong><br />
<strong>Housing</strong> <strong>Company</strong>.<br />
