Eric Jubb, Administration Officer at the housing company, who coordinated the event with schemes, said: “This event has a real sense of community about it as it gets people together, and raises money at the same time.” Many thanks to all those who took part at Conifer Close, Winlaton; East Lea, Blaydon; Emmaville, Ryton; Harrison Court, Birtley; Mosspool, Winlaton; and Wood Green, Bill Quay. By making donations in exchange for a cup of tea, coffee, cakes and snacks, housing company employees and sheltered scheme residents raised this considerable sum for the worthy cause. MacMillan Cancer Support’s annual ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ encourages groups to come together and raise money over a cuppa. The Gateshead Housing Company, together with sheltered schemes across the borough, has helped to raise more than £1,300 for a national cancer charity. Coffee mornings have ‘bean’ a great success 6
