*** Rare. Not in British Library. ESTC lists only one copy (Nat.<br />

Lib. Scotland). At the time of this charge Wren was Bishop of Ely.<br />

His support of the royalist Archbishop Laud and his toughness on<br />

the puritans led to his imprisonment by the Parliamentarians from<br />

1641-1659. He was uncle to the architect Christopher Wren.<br />

S6240B], for Austin Rice [&c.], 1656-1653 b o u n d W i t h a defective<br />

copy of Swan’s Speculum Muni, later reversed calf, joints splitting,<br />

but holding firm, rubbed, small 4to sold not subject to return.<br />
