Intervals <strong>of</strong> a Sixth, a Seventh and an Octave.<br />

The interval <strong>of</strong> a .mrti, very rarely used in plainsong, is<br />

composed <strong>of</strong> six degrees <strong>of</strong> the scale. It can either be major or<br />

minor. It is major if it contains four tones and a semitone:<br />
