Making the Grade Cyrraedd y Gradd
All accommodation grades has been quality graded so you can make your
choice in confidence, knowing that each place has been given a star grading
according to the quality and facilities on offer.
The Star Quality Grading Schemes apply to all types of accommodation:
serviced - hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast, farm accommodation, hostel
accommodation; self-catering accommodation and caravan holiday home and
touring/camping parks. Here are the quality ratings:
★ Simple, practical, no frills
★★ Well presented and well run
★★★ Good level of quality and comfort
★★★★ Excellent standard throughout
★★★★★ Exceptional, with a degree of luxury
Occasionally, it has not been possible to visit the accommodation prior to
publication - these properties are marked as ‘Awaiting Grading’
Visit Wales’ Gold Awards are given to extra-special properties
for exceptional standards of hospitality, comfort and food in
serviced accommodation.
Dragon Award Winners: Awarded for excellence in individual
caravan accommodation.
Croeso: Watch out for this sign as these have achieved a Croeso
award in recognition of their exceptional Warm Welsh Welcome.
Walkers and Cyclists Welcome: Walking and cycling enthusiasts
should look out for these signs. They are displayed by places which
provide features for walkers and cyclists e.g. drying facilities for
wet clothes and boots, secure lockable areas for bikes, packed
lunches etc.
Accommodating Visitors with Disabilities: All tourism
operators should prepare and make available an Access Statement
to potential visitors. This is the only way of accurately describing
accessibility in tourism premises. When booking, please ask for a
copy of the Access Statement for the premises.
Issues relating to mobility have been addressed or improved.

Self Catering Units and Static Caravans: price per unit per week
Tents and Touring Units: price for two people and their unit

Cancellation and Insurance: When you confirm a holiday booking, please bear
in mind that you are entering a legally binding contract which entitles the proprietor
to compensation if you fail to take up the accommodation or depart earlier than
