6th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
7 WINDSONG INVINCEBL was given the role of morning line favourite. Trainer Ben Wallace has at least two on this program that has that status.
She’ll make it difficult for the others if she shows up to produce a best performance and has a helping hand from MacDonell from the driving
standpoint. I did find a couple of upset prospects in the line up but had to bite the bullet and make her my top selection.
9 IWANNABATROTSTAR was going to be my choice to upset had the decision been made to try to beat the favourite. Rick Zeron was the
replacement named after Christoforou made the expected decision to stick with Windsong Idol. Both he and C.C. are capable of producing surprise
results. Give her a look.
4 MY FRIEND JUSTIN had a poor last race result. He’ll need to bounce back quickly with a better effort if he is going to finish as predicted or higher
in the order. I was willing to use only his best performances for the assessment that got him third spot in my triactor/superfecta predictions. You
might have to consider using the multi combination approach to be on the safe side.
3 KYLIE HALL might not produce her fourth career victory for a while longer. I’m going to keep waiting and say that she might have to settle for one
of the smaller purse shares again this night. Filion is back to drive her again. That shouldn’t hurt her chances and post 3 should help a bit too if she
can produce some early speed.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(1) JAGERMEISTER miscued before the start from an outside post at London last time. I’m thinking that he might sneak into the top three picture
but wasn’t willing to suggest that he might beat them all.
(2) SOUL OF MY SOUL scored in handy fashion over Flamboro rivals last time and before that had a near miss at the same track. He might fool me
but thought that others looked like better options to consider for the highest ratings.
(5) J M DECEPTION has some longshot status if your wagering approach is to include one or two options that are expected to be in that price
range. Your call about whether or not to include him.
(6) JOYFUL ROAD tried three times at Woodbine previously with mixed results. When he was second best he looked the part of a contender but
not in either of his two follow ups. An upset prospect is my call.
(8) WINDSONG IDOL beat lower level competition in her comeback start on March 28. The two races that followed ended in failure. I’ll watch and
wait.
(10) BUDDY HALLY prepped with three qualifiers at Pompano before the move was made back to Ontario. I’m thinking that I might be
underestimating his chances. I’ll consider a move to a higher position on race night when I can take a look at the body language of both horse and
driver. Be careful.
