RACE 2 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
B Yoyo, C. Christoforou to Ri. Zeron
Pretty Edgy, P. MacDonell to S. Byron
2nd Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
3 DEVLIN SEELSTER had second best status behind the unbeaten Muscle Gem on April 11. That winner tried for three in a row wins last night.
This fella looks to be a good fit when compared to the competition. A suitable drive from MacDonell should have him competing for one of the top
spots in the finish order. Only a slight preference.
8 HAMDALLA has shown previously that he can produce high end results with different racing styles. As long as he is close enough/soon enough
another finish in the top three should be added to his never worse than third 2013 summary line. Another performance in the 1:56 range would
make it difficult for the others.
5 B YOYO would be my third option to consider for the win position. He has a three win record up to this point. Christoforou (if he drives this trotter)
might have sights set on playing the role of spoiler. He’s done that many times in the past. Give him some chance to upset and check out the price
to see if the reward is suitable to the risk.
1 ON AND ON showed a good closing kick when he won from far back on April 4. The same style didn’t work as well last time in his final prep for
this event. I’m thinking that he might have to settle for one of the smaller purse shares this night and will rate him that way. He does give trainer
Blair Burgess a chance to win both Tie Silk divisions if my upset selection in race one was successful.
(2) EXEMPLAR has a license to improve in what is his second start of the year and only his third try in competition. With young and lightly
experienced trotters surprises can happen without notice.
(4) PULLUPYOUSOCKS didn’t make my list of possible winners. I’ve chosen to watch tonight in that regard but you could put him onto the list of
triactor possibilities. He has an improved post position this time. That can only help.
(6) OAKLEA VIPER was not very good last time after re-qualifying. He’ll have to step up his performance level substantially if he is going to have an
impact.
(7) PRETTY EDGY needed three qualifier before he was ready to return to competition. My decision was to play it cautiously and I’ll wait until we
have the result of this race to assess.
