8 BREWMASTER had a disappointing result last time when he could only beat three rivals. He’s been a difficult to predict performer up to this point
in time. Some of his races were not very good at all while others had better results. I’m going to use him as my upset choice and then hope for
some good things to happen.
2 BLOODSTOCKHALLTAB looks very much like the ne that they all have to beat in the first division of tonight’s Tie Silk Series first leg. In this spot
he should be much more popular with the bettors than he was last time when a longshot price was being offered. In the race prior to that he was
less than even money. Quite often I’ll play a hunch and try to beat the logical choice. That’s what I am going to do again. This is a risky strategy if
looking only for a winner.
4 E L ROCKET has a 3-for-four top three record up to this point. His last race result was good enough when you consider all the factors including
post position and trip. He should be contending for a top three result barring any serious problems as the race unfolds. I’ll use to complete my
triactor prediction.
7 YOU ROCK MY WORLD will likely race with a replacement driver. Jamieson was the first choice but he also had the call to handle the expected
race favourite. I’m going to list him as one of my top four options but only at the bottom of that group. Maybe next time in the second leg I’ll have
more confidence about a higher finish.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(1) EL DIABLO ROJO has second start status tonight after a long term layoff that saw him sitting on the sidelines since October 2012. If I were
going to select two or three different upset/longshot options and play them all he would be on that list.
(3) ROCK OF CASHEL makes only his fourth career start tonight. He’s going to get rating as an upset prospect at best. His April 4 result wasn’t
that bad.
(5) DEVRIES HANOVER could have been and probably should have been listed in the top group. Many handicappers are going to do that and
disagree with my assessment.
(6) SUMMERBEST had just limited success last year in a six race campaign. Breaks were a problem for him in half of those races. I thought that
others looked to be better options to consider for the exactor and triactor plays.
