2 FIRST IMPRESSION was hauled to the back of the field by driver Scott Zeron when sent off as the odds-on favourite two starts ago and that<br />

performance turned out to be a complete debacle. Trainer Rene Allard recruited Jody Jamieson to drive the pacer in last week’s performance, and<br />

after putting pacer on the lead he was able to dictate the tempo en route to getting the job done in 1:54.2. The gelding can double up in this spot.<br />

1 PACIFIC WARRIOR was claimed for $8,000 on Apr. 4 and he came back a winner against $10,000 rivals in his debut for trainer Gerard Demers.<br />

The son of Astreos has been on a serious roll as of late thanks to the three wins and the pair of second-place finishes he’s put together in his last six<br />

outings. The 22-time winner moves up to a tougher class level tonight, but he certainly doesn’t look out of place. He’s an Exactor factor in here.<br />

8 SILVER DRAGON has hit the board in each of his last four assignments for trainer Kevin McMaster, who has to be pleased with the pacer’s<br />

productivity in recent weeks. The gelding, who could still use some beefing up in the win column, was a solid second to my top selection in last<br />

week’s tilt. Look for him to be forwardly-placed once again. He has the overall speed needed to be a top three threat once again.<br />

6 DUKE DID IT finished up the month of March with back-to-back wins at Woodbine, but he’s been forced to settle for small shares in his last two<br />

outings for trainer Des Tackoor. The gelding was too far back and the trip was far too difficult for him to be a big threat last time. If he can avoid<br />

getting away ninth at the quarter pole and/or being parked every step of the mile he can be a serious contender.<br />

(3) SHIFTIN GEARTOGEAR hasn’t had any luck since returning from some down time. The gelding was a disappointing eighth versus $15,000<br />

foes in his return race, and he was a non-factor tenth against $12,000 rivals in last week’s follow-up performance. He’s hard to recommend.<br />

(4) AMBLE OVER HANOVER went home empty handed in his first four starts of the season against conditioned foes, and that’s prompted trainer<br />

Scott Habbershaw to reclassify the struggling son of Modern Art. The move to the claiming ranks gives him a license to improve.<br />

(5) PUTNAMS ATTACK was a narrowly-beaten runner-up versus $10,000 claimers in his Apr. 1 debut for owner/trainer Duncan Brewer, but he<br />

wasn’t much of a factor in his last two attempts against tougher company. He drops in for a $12,000 price tag tonight. He can grab a share.<br />

(7) SIX GUN has been first or second in nearly half of his starts this season, but he’s been shutout since joining forces with trainer Jason Ryan. The<br />

gelding lacked staying power against Flamboro Downs foes in his latest, and things probably won’t get any easier for him in this spot.
