Setting <strong>SuperMICAR</strong> Options). Once the files are removed from<br />

your directory, you cannot open them using <strong>SuperMICAR</strong><br />

without first restoring them.<br />

5. Clicking on the Start button will begin the backup process<br />

(filename.SBK). If a previous backup exists, you will be<br />

prompted to either abort the backup or replace the previous<br />

backup. If you choose to replace the previous backup, that<br />

prior backup file will be renamed before the current backup<br />

is performed (filename.SB$); Thus one accidental "replace"<br />

during backup can still be recovered While the backup is<br />

underway, the title of the dialog box will change to<br />

"Working." When the backup is complete a "Backup<br />

Successful" message will appear.<br />

6. The main screen and Menu Bar will be re-displayed.<br />

Restoring from <strong>SuperMICAR</strong> Backups<br />

At some point it may be necessary to restore a data file from a<br />

backup (see Creating <strong>SuperMICAR</strong> Backups). For the Restore from<br />

Backup function to be active, you cannot have a file currently open<br />

(see Closing a <strong>SuperMICAR</strong> File). To use <strong>SuperMICAR</strong>’s Restore<br />

function to retrieve data from a backup file:<br />

"Restore From Backup" restores files from the backup (or other<br />

chosen) directory to the current data directory. Therefore, it is<br />

advisable to verify the current data path before you move through the<br />

steps for restoring a file. See Setting <strong>SuperMICAR</strong> Options to verify<br />

(or change) current path settings.<br />

1. From the main screen, press {Alt+F} to select the File Menu<br />

Option.<br />
