The following is a summary <strong>of</strong> the results <strong>of</strong> the Annual Examinations<br />
<strong>of</strong> 1891-<strong>92</strong>.<br />
In the graduating class 3 students attained graduating averages<br />
between 90 <strong>and</strong> 95 ; 5 students attained graduating averages between<br />
85 <strong>and</strong> 90 ; three students attained an average for the year <strong>of</strong> between<br />
95 <strong>and</strong> 100 ; ten students attained an average between 90 <strong>and</strong> 95 ; 3<br />
student? attained an average between 85 <strong>and</strong> 90; 22 students attained<br />
an average <strong>of</strong> over 50 <strong>and</strong> less than 90; 2 students failed in their<br />
examinations <strong>and</strong> were not recommended for a degree, <strong>and</strong> 38 students<br />
were graduated.<br />
In the second year's class 2 students attained averages <strong>of</strong> between<br />
95 <strong>and</strong> 100; 4 students attained averages <strong>of</strong> between 90 <strong>and</strong> 95 ; 3<br />
students attained averages <strong>of</strong> between 85 <strong>and</strong> 90 ; 34 students attained<br />
averages <strong>of</strong> between 50 <strong>and</strong> 90; 9 students were conditioned in one<br />
subject; 4 students were conditioned in two subjects; 5 students having<br />
been conditioned in three or more subjects were dropped from the<br />
class; <strong>and</strong> 43 students were passed without conditions into the graduating<br />
class <strong>of</strong> 18<strong>92</strong>-93.<br />
In the first year's class 1 student attained an average <strong>of</strong> more than<br />
95 ; 1 student attained an average <strong>of</strong> between 90 <strong>and</strong> 95 ; 2 students<br />
attained an average <strong>of</strong> between 85 <strong>and</strong> 90; 42 students attained an<br />
average <strong>of</strong> between 50 <strong>and</strong> 90; 4 students were conditioned in one<br />
subject; 5 students were conditioned in two subjects; <strong>and</strong> 11 students<br />
having been conditioned in three or more subjects were dropped from<br />
the class; <strong>and</strong> 46 students were passed without conditions into the<br />
second year class <strong>of</strong> 18<strong>92</strong>-93.<br />
The prize lists <strong>and</strong> honor lists <strong>of</strong> <strong>1890</strong>—91 <strong>and</strong> 1891—<strong>92</strong> are<br />
printed in the annual catalogues <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>.<br />
THE GEORGE BIDDLE MEMORIAL LIBRARY.<br />
This Library was founded by the gift <strong>of</strong> 5077 volumes by the family<br />
<strong>of</strong> the late George Biddle, Esq. Effingham B. Morris, Esq., has<br />
deposited in the Library 1127 volumes; H. LaBarre Jayne, Esq., has<br />
given 1<strong>92</strong> volumes; sundry donors have given 61 volumes ; the Faculty<br />
have provided by gift or purchase 1958 volumes, <strong>and</strong> the Library<br />
now numbers 8415 volumes.<br />
The Department has since 1886-87 annually set aside 12 per cent,<br />
<strong>of</strong> its tuition fees <strong>and</strong> amounting, to i89i-<strong>92</strong>,inclusive, to the sum <strong>of</strong><br />
|7,888.6I, <strong>and</strong> disbursed that amount' for the maintenance <strong>of</strong> the
