5.8 Node Attributes<br />

This section describes the entire list of node attributes. Each attribute is listed together with its<br />

type and default value.<br />

• bordercolor<br />

Type: black, blue, red, ...<br />

Default value:<br />

Same as the value of the textcolor attribute for nodes<br />

Attribute of: node<br />

<strong>Description</strong>:<br />

Specifies the color for node borders. For details on colors, see p. 105. See also node attributes<br />

color (p. 93) and textcolor (p. 98).<br />

• borderstyle<br />

Type: continuous, dashed, dotted, double, invisible, solid, triple<br />

Default value: continuous<br />

Attribute of: subgraphs<br />

<strong>Description</strong>:<br />

This attribute specifies the line style used for drawing the borders of a node. See also edge<br />

attribute linestyle (p. 102).<br />

• borderwidth<br />

Type: integer<br />

Default value: 2 pixels<br />

Attribute of: node<br />

<strong>Description</strong>:<br />

This attribute specifies the width of the border of a node in pixels.<br />

• color<br />

Type: black, blue, red, ...<br />

Default value: white or transparent<br />

Attribute of: node<br />

<strong>Description</strong>:<br />

Here the color attribute specifies the background color of a node. For details on colors, see<br />

p. 105. See also node attributes textcolor (p. 98) and bordercolor (p. 93).<br />

• focus<br />

Type: no type<br />

Default value: no value<br />

Attribute of: node<br />

<strong>Description</strong>:<br />

This attribute sets the focus for the node for which it is specified. After startup this node is<br />

centered in the graph window.<br />

Note: the focus can also be specified for summary nodes (see graph attribute focus, p. 72). It<br />

goes without saying that the focus attribute should appear only once in a graph specification.<br />
