RACE 10 SCRATCH TIME CHANGES
The Summer Wind, S. Zeron to Ri. Zeron
10th Race Selections by K.C.M. THE HORSEPLAYERS JOURNAL
5 DREAMFAIR ECLIPSE was slightly preferred for the top spot. I’ll put my faith in Christoforou to make it work well enough to produce the
predicted victory. He’s had lots of past experience driving this mare and had good results with her. She’s good enough to beat them all if at her
best.
9 CHARDONAY SEELSTER raced aggressively from post 10 on April 5. The same approach by Waples on this night would give her a chance to
finish at or near the top of the order. The price should be reasonable. I thought the wagering support might be spread around fairly evenly between
four or more of the nine racers.
8 FOOLISH MIND has been four times second best this year from only seven tries. One night before too long Filion will set her up in the right spot
at the right time to end the losing streak and remove the goose egg from the win column in her 2013 summary line. That might happen as soon as
tonight.
6 MIA SEELSTER should have longshot status again for those that want to try that wagering strategy. Her ability to race on or near the lead might
help. In many races at this track the up close racers have good success. I’ll use her as a price boosting option in both the triactor and superfecta
prediction.
THE FOLLOWING LISTED IN POST POSITION ORDER
(1) JAN IT JACKSON tries for a double tonight. If she wins again that would give her three victories in four starts since April 3. That record is not
too shabby. It is not impossible to consider another victory.
(2) TRAMA UNIT is now racing as a free-legged (no hopples) pacer. So far that experiment has not paid off with any major dividends. I have to
keep watching until we see some improvement.
(3) JET HOT STUFF will try the major circuit for the first time this year. Flamboro is now closed and that forces many of the trainers to choose
between this track or London. Hanover is another option. That track opens on Saturday evening. Some of Jamieson’s fans will be interested.
(4) THE SUMMER WIND could have been a top four item. She was on the borderline when it was time to decide about a rating in that group or the
bottom. Find a way to include her in your triactor and superfecta strategy.
(7) ST LADS ZENA beat only one rival last time after a score in her previous race. I chose to rate her lower than the top four in her second try at the
nw3 level.
