<strong>Charles</strong> obtained a National Diploma in Forestry from Port Elizabeth Technikon in 1989 and was<br />
awarded a B.Tech degree in Forestry in 1999. He has had extensive experience in <strong>Environmental</strong><br />
Management, including soil and plant mapping, environmental auditing, and has lectured at PE<br />
Technikon for the Departments of Forestry, Nature Conservation and Agriculture. He also spent a<br />
number of years as a Principle <strong>Environmental</strong> Officer with the Department of <strong>Environmental</strong> Affairs<br />
and Development Planning where he was primarily responsible for the evaluation and review of<br />
<strong>Environmental</strong> Impact Assessments and appeals on Records of Decision, as well as advising the<br />
competent authority and the MEC on law enforcement and environmental matters. <strong>Charles</strong> has<br />
gained substantive experience in the review of impact assessments for various Government<br />
departments and has maintained sound relationships with the respective authorities involved in<br />
environmental evaluation. He has carried out a variety of environmental assessments for a range<br />
of projects for both public and private sector developments. <strong>Charles</strong> is currently studying towards<br />
