The Karoo’s heartland will for a
second time be transformed into a
place of experiencing and proclaiming
God’s glory during the Karoo
Mighty Men Conference 2012
(KMMC 2012), which is set to take
place from 27 April to 29 April on
the outskirts of Middelburg in the
Eastern Cape at Rusoord Farm.
Jannie Moolman, event co-ordinator,
says men attending the
KMMC 2012 will once more have
the opportunity of being mentored
by evangelist Angus Buchan, who
has become synonymous with the
Mighty Men events.
He says Angus’ message of
stepping out in faith and practically
living the messages of the Bible,
like doing God’s will, forgiving
others, loving your family, and loving
our neighbours is extremely
powerful.“It is a message of faith,
hope and love.”
Moolman maintains that a special
aspect of last year’s KMMC was
the manner in which Angus brought
Christians from so many different
places and of so many different ra-
ces, languages, churches and de-

nominations together in praise and
worship of the Lord.
“Getting to know fellow Christians
while camping; the discussions,
the fun, the laughter, and the
friendships that develop are all an
important part of the whole experience,”
explains Moolman.
He says the feedback from
people who attended last year’s
event has been extremely positive.
“Charlie Parsons, who came
with 150 men from the Port Alfred,
Grahamstown, Kenton, and the Alexandra
region, wrote to us about
the awesome privilege of attending,
of being on his knees in the cold of
a Karoo night, looking up at the
mountain and stars in thanksgiving
to the Lord; Henry van Breda who
attended the event with his 13-yearold
son told of the marked deepening
in the boy’s relationship with the
Lord; and Dr Leon Nell from Port
Alfred, one of the doctors on standby
at the event, not only experienced

MIA2012, Moving Into Action
is a large scale volunteer and
missions mobilization conference
with outreaches, to be hosted at
Fountains Valley in Pretoria from
25 - 27 June 2012. Hundreds of
volunteer teams consisting of 10
members each will depart from the
conference to identified Entities of
Change (EoC’s) across Southern
Africa as far as the equator.
The MIA2012 mobilization
initiative aims to draw together
like-minded people, churches
and organisations from across
Southern Africa who realize that
there has been enough mere talk of
“Africa’s time to shine”, and that
it is now time to physically and
prophetically “move into action”.
“The emphasis of MIA2012 is
about encouraging this generation
of Africans to take responsibility
for Africa,” said Adriaan Adams,
who is part of the leadership team.
“MIA2012 is not a substitute for
the outreaches and development
initiatives of churches and organisations,
but a unifying platform
for any individual, church
or organisation that wants to align
their current missions initiatives
to the MIA2012 conference and
process next year,” said Adams.
“If people are already going on
an outreach over that time in June
next year, we would love them to
join the conference and depart to
their destinations from there. The
conference is an opportunity for
the Body of Christ to get the bigger
personal transformation himself, but
witnessed people ranging from drug
addicts to assassins being delivered
and saved,” says Moolman.
Retief Burger and Joe Niemand,
who prepared the ground for the
word to fall into responsive hearts
at last year’s event will again lead
the praise and worship team.
According to Niemand, the revelation
of God through worship
is a very important component of
Mighty Men Conferences as people
get a chance to respond to the
Lord who brings comfort and unity
through the music.
“The praise and worship is the
voice of a crowd of individual believers
combining their voices with
people they don’t even know, which
stirs unity, and when the Lord starts
moving in that, lives change.”
Visitors to KMMC 2012 will
be glad to know that another aspect
that has not changed from last year
is the venue.

with organisations across Africa
who will be hosting the outreach
teams in July next year,”
said Martin de Jager, an EoC
coordinator. “MIA2012 wants to
be the “salt” on this continent.
Salt is not a substitute for meat,
but it helps to bring out the fla-
vour, to help empower the people
and organisations who are already
making a difference in Africa,” he
added.
“MIA2012’s South-to-North
team has recently returned from
an 80 day trip across Africa,
where they facilitated information
sessions in different countries.”
said Hendre Page, who was part
of the South-to-North team. “More
than 120 Entities of Change in

KMMC enjoyed the sense
of space and stillness, with the
mighty Rhenosterberg towering
over the camping grounds and place
of worship.
“It is a venue where Christians
are humbled by the vastness of their
surrounding environment and can
deepen their relationship with Lord
Jesus in the peace and calm of the
Karoo,” he adds.
However, Moolman says the
organising committee has learned
much from the first event and a
greater sense of unity has developed
among men who attended last
year’s event and will be returning
this year.
“There have been many breakfasts
and get-togethers of men that
intend coming to KMMC 2012 in
towns and cities as far afield as
Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth.
Like last year’s event, KMMC
2012 aims to change men’s lives, by
these countries have indicated
their willingness to host teams
over that period.
Over the 3-day conference
in June, the outreach teams
will receive ministry and skills
training in various critical areas.
They will then work with the
identified EoC in the nation that
they are going to.
MIA2012 has the support of
many church leaders, individuals
and organisations such as Jericho
Walls, Life Christian Foundation,
Operation Mobilisation, World
Missions Centre, Watoto, Adven-
tures for Christ, WEA-MC,
WENSA, Focus Team Leadership
Training, FEBA Radio,
and others. Members of the
MIA2012 leadership team also
had an opportunity to introduce
MIA2012 at the global consultation
of the Missions Commis-

“We hope to lead people into a
closer relationship with the Lord,
which will impact on the quality of

gegroei het as ons nie nodig gehad
het om ’n prys te betaal vir ons getuienis
nie.”
Sowat 100 miljoen Christene
wêreldwyd staar ondervraging, arrestasie
en selfs dood in die gesig, vir
hul geloof in Christus, met miljoene
meer wat slagoffers van diskriminasie
