lo righl, holding ujj arm over a basket on the ground. Free style. Rest of surface<br />

covered with deep black glaze except base, which bas a coat of red.<br />

PiiESERVATioN : Moutli bi'oken oiï; scratcbcd and incriisted.<br />

26210. Small red-figured lekythos. — lleight m. 07 cent.<br />

% Shape : Like n" 2620Ù. but ])odv more squat.<br />

CoLOUR AND ORNAMENTATiON : On<br />

body. swau, adomed with black spots, to right; tendril<br />

on right. Rest of surface, except base, covered with metallic black glaze.<br />

Préservation : Handle<br />

glued on; chipped and worn.<br />

26211. Small red-figured lekythos. — Heigiit m. io5 mill. — Bought,<br />

Alexandi-ia, August 1888 (pi. XII).<br />

Shape : Like n" 2 62 ci.<br />

CoLOUR and ornaiientation : Metallic black glaze except on base. The représentation<br />

consists of the head and bust of a bearded figure to lefl holding torch over sboulder;<br />

lie wears garmcnt round neck adorned with dots and zigzags and broad band<br />

round hair. Free style. Relow, narrow line of while going right round.<br />

Préservation : Chipped<br />

and worn.<br />

Shape : Like n" 2620A.<br />

CoLouR and ornamentation : Metallic black glaze. Round body, below handle, broad<br />

band in the red ground-colour on which, in front, a rope pattern in thinly ap-<br />

plied black. Coat of red on base. Traces of applied red below the black glaze on<br />

handle (and on reserved band round body?)<br />

Préservation : Mouth-piece broken ofT; surface a little chipped and scralched.<br />

26213. Red-figured alabastron. — Height o m. 16 cent. (pi. XII).<br />
