Technique :<br />

Inner markings inclsed, and also some outlines; accessory red on the bands<br />

dividing tlie friezes and touches of red on animais (neck and belly of lion and two<br />

patches on wing of swan) and on lolus frieze (ihe red being appb'ed over the glaze).<br />

CoLouii : Smoolb yellowish wliite surface.<br />

Ornamentation : Gonsists mainly of broad bands wilh a plain slrip down the nilddle,<br />

on each side of which is a row of curving strokes. A band as described on each side<br />

of body, curving round from end of handle and ending at base in front; simiiar<br />

band round front of neck about half-way down. In front of body, a lozenge with<br />

slightly smaller lozenge inside and two wavy Unes stretching between opposite angles<br />

and Crossing in the centre.<br />

Technique : Neck smoothed down; bands impressed mechanically (?).<br />

Smooth, slightly shceny surface of light pink with dark patches in places.<br />

shoulder round foot of neck, row of short wavy strokes, lightly<br />

impressed; below, wavy spray with ivy leaves branching out on each side; below,<br />

row of short wavy strokes as above.<br />

Préservation : Chip<br />

Designs impressed on damp clay (by nieans of stamps?).<br />

on rim; slightly incrusted with soil.<br />
