Hagadone, who was acquired from the Red Sox two years ago as part of the Victor Martinez deal, has been
moved to the bullpen full-time this season due to injury and control problems. He's thrived, posting a 2.74 ERA
and 75/22 K/BB ratio over 69 relief innings between Double- and Triple-A. He'll likely be used in a middle relief
role initially. Boston selected him as a supplemental first-round pick in 2007 out of Washington University.
Jerad Head signed as a nondrafted free agent out of Washburn (Kan.) University in ’05 and then spent three
seasons at the Class A level and most of the next two in Double-A. But Head's fortunes began to change in
2010. He won MVP honors in the Triple-A National Championship Game—he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and
four RBIs against Tacoma—and the 28-year-old returned to Columbus this season and performed, batting
.284/.338/.526 with 24 doubles and 28 homers.

Selected by the Royals in the 16th round of the 2005 Draft out of Laredo (Texas) Community College and Baton
Rouge (La.) Community College, Santiago was named Burlington Pitcher of the Year in 2007 and finished fifth in
the Carolina League in ERA and ninth in innings pitched in 2008. He pitched for Puerto Rico in the Caribbean
World Series in 2009 (went 1-1 with a 0.75 ERA and 11 strikeouts) and in the IBAF World Cup the same year (in
that tournament showed a good slider and an above average curveball). He made 17 starts for AA-Northwest
Arkansas in 2010, tied for third most on the team. He went 3-3-2, 5.70 ERA at Triple A-Omaha (64.2 IP) and 5-2,
2.23 ERA at AA-Northwest Arkansas (47.1 IP) and is eligible for minor league free agency after the season.
