Global Tungsten & Powders
Capacity for tungsten powder expanded Highlights
Continuing high demand for APT, tungsten powder and
tungsten carbide ensured GTP’s production capacity, which
was steadily expanded throughout the 2011/12 fiscal year,
was well utilized.
GTP continued to explore the world’s raw material availability
through the development of strategic partnerships with startup
tungsten mines. Moreover GTP has established collection
systems in more countries to increase the amount of tungsten
it recycles.
GTP is now focusing on investing in its core business more
than ever before. As well as increasing capacity in powder
production, GTP has set up its first, heavily automated production
line for metal interconnects. These interconnects for
solid oxide fuel cells are produced around the clock.
GTP has signed a long-term cooperation with the Wolfram Camp Mine of the
Deutsche Rohstoff AG in Queensland, Australia
Powders for hard materials
GTP markets a diverse line of
tungsten carbide powders with
offerings of “as-reduced” and
ready to press powders, both
engineered for applications in the
machining, mining, construction
and automotive industries.
Powders for energy exploration
GTP develops and produces
many custom powders designed
to meet demanding specifications
that customers require
in their applications. This has
resulted in strong demand for
engineered tungsten powders
from the oil and gas drilling business.
Thermal spray powders
Thermal spray powders are complex
powders in both chemistry
and particle size distribution.
These powders are engineered
to be applied to a surface as a
coating using a sophisticated
process.
