The Chilean company Molibdenos y Metales S.A. (Molymet) is
the world’s largest processor of molybdenum ore concentrates
and rhenium. Molymet was set up in 1975 and first listed on
the Santiago stock exchange in 1983. The company employs
1,400 staff at six sites around the world. Molymet has long
been one of the Plansee Group’s key suppliers.
The Plansee Group has held a 10 percent share in Molymet
since March 2011. As its third largest shareholder, Plansee has
a seat on Molymet’s board. Plansee’s involvement in Molymet
is an important step towards securing the Group’s supply of
the raw material molybdenum.
