Local distribution cables underground, primary cable between exchanges and<br />

distribution points and secondary cables to distribution points.<br />

Construction<br />

Conductor: plain annealed copper wire Ø 0.4 / 0.6 mm<br />

Insulation: foam-skin-PE<br />

Colour code: a-core: RD-GN-YE-BU-BN<br />

b-core: WT<br />

c-core: BK<br />

d-core: GY<br />

Stranding and coding: Basic strand (bs) of 5 quads (stranded) are laid up in<br />

concentric layers for cables up to max. 50 quads. For<br />

larger cables, basic strand (bs) are laid up in primary<br />

strand (ps) 25 quads, medium strand (ms) 50 quads or<br />

super strand (ss) 100 quads, and strands are laid up in<br />

concentric layers.<br />

The tracer unit is identified by an open red helix, the<br />

counter unit by a green one, all other units alternativly<br />

by an open yellow or blue helix.<br />

Filling: The interstices of the cable core are completely filled<br />

with petroleum jelly compound.<br />
