GReetInGs FRom AtLAntIc cIty As many of you are aware, for the last several years I have had the privilege of representing both Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile from Bravo TV’s Real Housewives of New Jersey and becoming very close with both women and their husbands, Joe and Rich. We have socialized quite a bit and spent time in one another’s homes and through my association with them I have appeared several times on television, as has The Boardwalk Journal. In social settings, my wife Rebecca and I have had the privilege of meeting the other three Housewives, their husbands, their children and many of the peripheral personalities associated with the show, many of whom have been featured in one way or another in The Boardwalk Journal. Everyone I have had the privilege of meeting has always been very nice to both myself and my wife, including Teresa, and it has always been my belief and understanding that characters can become heroes or villains on any given Sunday night based upon what takes place in the editing room more so than what takes place in real life. This is reality TV, but in all reality, it is not always an accurate depiction of who these men and women really are. One of the sweetest and most down to earth people you could ever meet in this often bizarre world of reality television is Jacqueline Laurita, one of Melissa and Kathy’s television co-star’s on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Jacqueline was generous with her time and very open with The Boardwalk Journal’s Danielle Davies about her emotional and truly inspirational journey navigating the rough waters of dealing with the many uncertainties that arise when coping with autism. If you are looking for a Real Housewives of New Jersey tell-all of who gets along with who and who doesn’t, look elsewhere. This is her story, her reality and I assure you that it is a 100% accurate depiction of who she really is. Another amazing and very accomplished woman you will read about in this issue is Deana Martin, the daughter of the legendary Dean Martin. Deana gave our Felicia Lowenstein Niven unfettered access into her fascinating world as she takes a trip down memory lane, remembering her late father and his Rat Pack brethren, and a glimpse of what to expect when she comes to Caesars on May 31 st as part of an evening honoring her father presented by the Schultz-Hill Foundation. Last, but certainly not least, the very accomplished Danielle Gomes gives our readers an insight into the history and day-to-day operations of Brigantine’s Marine Mammal Stranding Center. Danielle has recently written a book honoring her late father, casino legend Dennis Gomes entitled Hit Me: Fighting the Las Vegas Mob by the Numbers and is the real story behind the notorious Stardust Skim, which served as the backdrop for Martin Scorsese’s epic film Casino. Her book is available for pre-order on Amazon.com, as is the aforementioned Real Housewives Melissa Gorga’s book, Love Italian Style: The Secrets of My Hot and Happy Marriage.
