In this old gypsum quarry can be studied<br />

the sebkha deposits <strong>of</strong> the ‘Formati<strong>on</strong><br />

salifère’ with red, green and black clay<br />

layers. Gypsum appears as nodular masses,<br />

<strong>of</strong> various size and more or less<br />

coalescent, and as sec<strong>on</strong>dary veins<br />

crossing several strata (Fig. 29).<br />

Fm)<br />

This locality allows to study two particular facies <strong>of</strong> the ‘Grès rhétien’ Formati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
