decisions and actions made should be agreed by all partners.
You have to be aware because any decisions and actions are
dependent on the other partners agreeing, and certain conflicts may
arise from time to time. Such conflicts have led to partnerships failing,
so it is important that some control can be maintained by compiling a
'partnership agreement' prior to starting the partnership.
A key element of any partnership is the resources that each partner
can bring to the partnership and the tasks that they are willing to do to
ensure that the partnership achieves it aim. The resources that
partners can contribute towards the efficiency and effectiveness of
the partnership can vary from: staff, finances, transport, premises,
etc, all of which are key elements that ensure success.
However, in some partnerships not all partners can put in the same
resources, but can contribute in other ways. Therefore, it is essential
to get partners involved that will enable you to achieve your goal, and
if a group or agency can not assist you then it is not important that
they are involved.
All partnerships have to be equal with each partner having the same
rights and powers as everyone else. From time to time you will hear
the phrase ‘Lead Partner’. This does not mean that this partner has
more power or rights than others; all it should mean is that this
partner has agreed to take on the administration for the partnership
and agreed to be the main contact, everything else has to be agreed
by the whole partnership.
