South India Leadership Training ....................................42.30285 Under the leadership of James John, the Asia Bible College in Cochin equips pastors, church planters, evangelists, and teachers to work in rural South India. Thirty-two students are engaged in a two- to three-year course of study. Training takes place in both the classroom and on site in the local church. The project administrator is George Tharakan. (Annual Goal $1,600) *South India Asia Bible College .....................................42.30286 The Asia Bible College in South India provides basic biblical, theological, doctrinal, and practical training for men and women who feel called by God to be ministers of the gospel. These funds will allow the school to upgrade for accreditation, library needs, and faculty allowances. (Annual Goal $3,000) India—West Bengal West Bengal Training Center (Siliguri) . ..............................42.40302 Due to a generous contributor, land has been purchased in Siliguri on which to build ministry and missions training centers. Funds are needed to erect the center. In recent years, Siliguri has become a hub for training and outreach in northeast India. (Annual Goal $1,000) West Bengal National Leaders/Workers (Kolkata) . .....................42.40303 The work of the Church of God is one hundred years old. Susanta Patra cares for and motivates the people in this congregation to think of reaching out to the people of Kolkata and West Bengal. New leaders are being trained and churches are being established. (Annual Goal $1,200) Asia–Pacific Ignite Permeate Free Cultivate Refresh West Bengal National Leaders/Workers (Siliguri) .......................42.40304 The evangelists and pastors working in Siliguri work in both urban and rural areas. This account provides some assistance for those workers who have committed their lives and ministries to reaching the lost in this region of northeast India. (Annual Goal $8,500) West Bengal Leadership Development (Siliguri) ........................42.40306 Under the direction of Sanjay Murmu, the work in Siliguri is expanding in the tea garden areas and communities. It is essential that evangelists and church planters receive foundational training to work in this extremely difficult area. (Annual Goal $600) Bhutan Ministry .................................................42.40308 The project funds a ministry to one of the most isolated and underdeveloped countries in the world under the able leadership and oversight of Borman Roy Sohkhia. Japan Ignite Permeate Free Cultivate Refresh Japan Church Buildings ...........................................42.40315 Although the Church of God in Japan cares for the financial aspects of their ministry, capital expenditures in Japan are often prohibitive. This project provides funds to churches in Japan to assist them in paying off indebtedness for their new structure and also provides some seed money for church plants as well as for churches that are considering expansion or remodeling. (Annual Goal $1,800) Micronesia Micronesia Church Planting . ......................................42.40230 Pastor Robert Katmay has done a great deal of advance church-planting work on the island of Yap. Church planting efforts continue among the animistic Yapese people. (Annual Goal $1,000) Myanmar Myanmar National Leaders/Workers .................................42.30410 Led by Dorothy Colney, fifteen pastors, teachers, and evangelists work in Myanmar. Pastors receive $100 each month; evangelists and teachers receive $70 each month. They work among the growing churches. (Annual Goal $21,000) Myanmar New Church Development . ...............................42.40390 The national work in Myanmar is based in Yangon, but it is not confined to the capital city. There is a great need today to establish church facilities as home meetings are not looked upon favorably by the military government. (Annual Goal $2,800) Nepal Nepal New Chapels ...............................................42.40401 As people come to Christ, it is helpful to have a place to gather. Initially, believers gather in homes, but at some point they desire to have a more visible presence in their communities. At that point new chapels are established. Presently, outside of Katmandu there are eleven congregations with buildings. (Annual Goal $5,000) Tibetan Outreach . ...............................................42.40405 Outreach among the Tibetan people, particularly among Tibetan monks, is hard but still effective.
