Ecuador Leadership Development ...................................42.30165
Started in 1986, the church in Ecuador is growing rapidly. This project funds the development
of leadership training materials and covers the costs of seminars, including travel, room, and
board for participants. (Annual Goal $3,900)
Ecuador Church Planting/Construction ..............................42.40190
This project helps buy materials for construction of new church buildings, purchase land for
new construction, and provide for skilled workers. Advance funds allow project managers to
have materials ready and on site when work campers arrive. Churches receiving materials must
collaborate in the construction effort by giving time or offerings. (Annual Goal $12,000)
Northeast Brazil Church Planting—Salvador da Bahia . ............42.40070
In 2003, church planters Adaílton and Mariana Wild gathered the nucleus of a new congregation
in Brazil’s third largest city, Salvador da Bahia. The young church meets in a rented store, which
they are remodeling to accommodate two hundred people. They will soon exceed capacity. Today,
120 believers participate in ten weekly discipleship study groups whose hosts participate in
weekly leadership education classes.
Adaílton and Mariana Wild support themselves selling ice cream on a busy street and working in
her father’s construction materials store. Mariana completed a bachelor degree in music at the
Federal University and both have pursued seminary studies. Ana Júlia, their first child, was born
on April 16, 2007.
Veteran missionaries Tom and Jean
McCracken visited Salvador da Bahia
in 2009 to teach leaders classes on
the inspiration and authority of the
Bible and baptism in the Holy Spirit.
“We also got to witness the immersion
of four new followers of Jesus,”
Tom writes. “We ask you, when your
church thinks about missions, to
please consider becoming a partner
with the Wilds in this strategic urban
outreach.”
