The Senegalese are known for their colorful and resplendent<br />
dresses, which are elegant and at the same time light and<br />
comfortable.<br />
Here is a list of major tissues used by the population of<br />
Sédhiou 1 :<br />
kartoum<br />
wax<br />
bacien<br />
ciub<br />
perlage (often with small decorations, used for scarves)<br />
vual (this material is imported by Arab culture)<br />
prekal (which is similar to linen)<br />
soien<br />
bourodé (transpersed)<br />
linwax (half-linen, half-wax)<br />
supersan (also in rayé)<br />
mailuse<br />
ganila (which is similar to ciub)<br />
The majority of these textiles are typically worn by women.<br />
The fabrics used for clothing men are mainly: cioub, supersan,<br />
bacien, flax, wax, linwax.<br />
