Information Sharing by Farther Sean:
Roman Missal (Maiden Voyage):
- The first weekend went very well. There were many positive comments from
parishioners. The layout for priests is different; however, everyone seemed to
adjust to the new translation.
- The cards with the written responses were invaluable and a great idea.
- The changes hopefully will make everyone slow down to truly understand the
meaning of what is being said.
Construction Update of the Parish Life Center:
- The first phase of the site development is continuing. The completion goal for
this phase is Christmas.
- Phase 2 of the project (building construction) is moving forward. The building
permit was received this week; however, we are still waiting on the local MUD

district for its approval. Finalizing the GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) for
the project should be complete in the next few weeks. The GMP should be 12
million dollars. An evaluation of the soft costs (items inside the building) is
taking place and should not exceed 18% of the GMP. We are expecting to do
a complete build-out which is great news!
- We have received approximately 5.6 million dollars in pledges to the Capital
Campaign from 1,330 families. There will be an end of the year appeal for
additional pledges in the hopes of reaching those people who have yet to
pledge as well as those who may be able to give a little more. It is hopeful that
when parishioners see the physical building, they will be excited and want to
pledge.
- Father Sean is hoping to do a ground breaking ceremony in the near future.
Stained Glass:
- The contract for the 5 stained glass windows showing the 5 major events in
Jesus’ public ministry has been awarded. The goal is to have this completed
by Easter
Liturgy Director:
- Father will actively search for a director at the Southwest Liturgical Council
(SWLC). The conference will be January 24 th – 27 th in Dallas. Please
continue to pray for a Liturgical Director.

Youth Ministry:
- The National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) was held November 17 - 19
in Indianapolis, IN. Father Sean, along with a group of students and adults
from CTR, attended the conference. Our youth had a great time and were
very engaged the entire time. It was an extremely positive experience for all.
- The Fall Service Day was a huge success. 20 kids participated at 6 different
sites. We’re looking forward to the next service day in the spring!
- Stephanie and CJ continue to do a great job. Their main focus has been the
high school youth this semester. The bible study program – Word on
Wednesdays (WOW) – is doing well.
- Father is looking to bring someone on board to focus on our junior high youth
and help evangelize and strengthen their faith.
Parish Activities:
- Stairwells are now complete in the education building.
- The website is up and running. Please let Stacie McKay know if something is
hard to navigate.
- Wilbur Sorto is now a full time employee on the Maintenance/Facilities staff.

Open Discussions:
A question was asked if the music’s tempo could speed up at mass. Father Sean
said the music always needs to fit the season; however, he would speak to Bridget
Wenk, the Director of Music, to discuss the tempo issue. A huge thank you went out
to all of our choirs for their hard work and dedication. They are doing a great job!
Can cell phones be used during mass to pray if prayers are stored in the phone?
Yes, Father does not have a problem with this.
It was suggested that sacristans have access to the keys to the water font in case
there is a malfunction during mass. Father agrees with this suggestion.
The locks on the front doors of the Community Center are extremely hard to open. It
was suggested to post instructions to help assist with this problem.
Can a monthly calendar of all activities at CTR be printed in the bulletin? A monthly
calendar would be extremely hard to publish because there are so many things
occurring and changing on a weekly basis. A suggestion was made to go to the
website to print the on-line calendar.
