1-12 Series 3000 Application Programmer’s Guide While Series 3000 terminals are battery powered, the batteries do not provide sufficient power for erasing and writing the NVM image (refer to Chapter 2, Programming a Series 3000 Terminal, in this guide for an explanation). The auxiliary power, provided by either the cradle or the power adapter module, is required for this operation.
