1. Effective January 1, 2007 the <strong>Conference</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Pension will fund only the % above as<br />
applied to the Medicare Companion plan rate. Retirees and/or dependents not yet<br />
Medicare eligible age will be responsible for the difference between the funded amount<br />
as calculated based on the above table(s) and the remaining cost <strong>of</strong> full coverage.<br />
2. <strong>The</strong> above % <strong>of</strong> the Medicare Companion plan premium will be applied to the total active<br />
family rate until both the retiree and spouse attain the Medicare eligibility age.<br />
3. Participants who retired under provision E1, (2007 rule) will have their rates re-calculated<br />
effective July 1, 2008 to comply with the new E2 provision.<br />
F. Retirement after July 1, 2009<br />

Clergy under appointment as <strong>of</strong> June 30, 2009<br />
1. Post retirement insurance plan eligibility for clergy who are licensed, commissioned, or<br />
ordained under NC Episcopal appointment to a NC <strong>Conference</strong> responsible appointment<br />
(i.e., eligible for enrollment in the <strong>Conference</strong> Insurance Plan) as <strong>of</strong> June 30, 2009 will be<br />
determined using years <strong>of</strong> NC pension credit/pension eligibility accrued through June 30,<br />
2009. Effective July 1, 2009, accrual <strong>of</strong> future year’s credit toward post retirement<br />
benefits will be determined by months <strong>of</strong> enrollment in the <strong>Conference</strong> insurance plan<br />
with a minimum <strong>of</strong> 60 months immediately preceding retirement.<br />
2. <strong>The</strong> retiree must participate in the NC Insurance Plan for 60 consecutive months<br />
immediately prior to the date <strong>of</strong> retirement.<br />
3. In order to maintain insurance benefits after retirement, the retiree must be enrolled in the<br />
applicable coverage immediately preceding the date <strong>of</strong> retirement.<br />
4. Clergy with 60 months <strong>of</strong> participation in the NC Insurance Plan immediately prior to<br />
retirement, but less than 180 months in the plan (over the course <strong>of</strong> career) will have<br />
access to the NC <strong>Conference</strong> Insurance Plan and contribute the full cost <strong>of</strong> the applicable<br />
coverage <strong>of</strong> the plan.<br />
5. <strong>The</strong> retiree may only cover dependents that are covered at the time <strong>of</strong> retirement.<br />
6. Funding will be based on the chart printed below:<br />
