subsidence. Palaeoclimatic reconstructions will be<br />

completed by isotope analyses of benthic organisms<br />

such as brachiopods <strong>and</strong> oysters as well as by clay<br />

m<strong>in</strong>eralogy. These results will allow the evaluation of<br />

climatic changes from the Callovian to Kimmeridgian<br />

<strong>in</strong> the Kachchh Bas<strong>in</strong> <strong>and</strong> will provide <strong>in</strong>sights <strong>in</strong>to the<br />

exact development of the global sea-level curve, which<br />

is still under debate. While Dromart et al. (2003b), for<br />

example, propose a sea-level m<strong>in</strong>imum <strong>in</strong> the latest<br />

Callovian, Wierzbowski et al. (2009) suggest maximum<br />

flood<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
