Typical "profile" of technology parks in Brazil Despite being a relatively recent experience, the movement of technology parks in Brazil already lets you identify some typical characteristics that configure the base that can consolidate as a "Brazilian" Model of PqTs: -The PqTs Brazilians have a close relationship with mechanisms and initiatives promoting innovative entrepreneurship, especially incubators. -In general the parks are connected with a formal program of regional planning, constituting an important part of the strategy of economic and technological development. -PqTs projects typically have been led by managers of successful programmes in the area of business incubation, technology transfer, university-enterprise and research and development to the business sector. -The physical spaces chosen to deploy the PqTs usually originate from government agencies or universities. -Most projects relies heavily on "people" or "groups of people" who are dedicated to coordinate the initiatives. -Large State-owned enterprises and technological competence have played an increasingly important role in leveraging and consolidating PqTs. -Depending on the character "emergent" technology industry in the country, occupying a space PqTs come as true physical references of the development process of the Brazilian technological poles.
