two methods. We should also mention at
this point that the integrated web server
has many more features in store, such as
creating timer entries for recordings over
the network, editing or deleting existing
timer entries or deleting or transferring
existing recordings to the PC. Of course,
status information about the receiver
can also be retrieved at any time.
All this is not only available in the
local network, but also via the Internet,
if required.
This means you are
able to check right
from your hotel
room whether your
Topfield receiver at
home has recorded
all events you had
set in the timer.
Or if you find out a
blockbuster movie
is on TV that night
you can easily
create a timer entry
so that the receiver
will record it even
while you are away.

Transferring a recording from
the receiver to the PC
To make sure only you or persons
authorised by you are able to do this you
can of course restrict access by way of
setting a user name and password.
The third option of transferring recordings
from the receiver to the PC is using
the USB 2.0 interface. Currently this is
also the fastest and easiest option, even
though it is restricted to a local set up
and does not support any additional features
such as timer management.
A standard USB 2.0 cable can be used
to connect the receiver to the PC, but
please make sure the length of the cable
does not exceed three metres unless
