9. The Web
Browser
displays the
Web page.
Concepts
the page. Once the page is built, it is then returned to the web server which
then sends it to the requesting browser for display. This process is illustrated
below.
1. First, the Web browser
requests a Web page from
the Web Server.

7. The ColdFusion Server takes
the information from the
Database and inserts it into
the Web page. The Web
page is sent back to the Web

6. The Database sends the information
requested back to the ColdFusion Server.

2. The Web Server acts as a
“traffic cop.” It directs the
request to the File System.
3. The File System
grabs the
requested page
and sends it
back to the
Web Server.

System. The Web Server knows to send all
“.cfm” files to the ColdFusion Application
Server.
5. The ColdFusion Server reads the code
and sends a request for the information
it needs to the Database.
