Shanghai’ s <strong>Air</strong> Quality Slowly Improves (Jan.11 <strong>2008</strong>)<br />

Shanghai's air quality was slightly better last year but vehicle emissions remain a major<br />

pollutant, local environmental supervisors said yesterday. There were 328 days with<br />

excellent or good air quality in 2007, four days more than 2006.<br />

Hebei Province Reports More Blue Sky Days (Jan.14 <strong>2008</strong>)<br />

All 11 major cities in Hebei Province, which surrounds the Olympic host city of Beijing,<br />

reported more "blue sky" days in 2007 than the previous year. "Blue sky" days in these<br />

cities averaged 313 last year, 14 more than in 2006 and 141 more than five years ago.<br />

Inspection Result on Environment Performance of 130 Multinational Corps (Jan.15 <strong>2008</strong>)<br />

SEPA made public the results of its inspection of illegal environmental deeds committed<br />

by 130 multinational companies, among which 260 multinational companies have caused<br />

water pollution in <strong>China</strong> while more than 50 have caused serious air pollution.<br />
