The southern United States and northern portions of Mexico are expected to be wetter than normal due
to a subtropical tap of moisture and the jet stream poised across the region. Above normal temperatures
are expected for much of Canada into the northern half of the United States. Dry and warm conditions are
expected across much of northern South America. Portions of southern Africa are also expected to be on the
dry and warm side, as are portions of southern India, Thailand, vietnam, the Philippines and extreme northern
sections of Australia. Cooler than normal temperatures are expected throughout the southern United States,
portions of eastern Europe and into northeastern Asia.
