MAIN MANDATE / COMPETENCIES<br />

“In pursuit of its mission, it is incumbent upon Ministry of Economy and Development:<br />

a) To propose policies and prepare draft regulations required for the areas within its<br />

purview;<br />

b) To undertake studies with a view to preparing the 5-year national development plan;<br />

c) To make recommendations to other Cabinet members in preparation for the<br />

implementation of the 5-year national development plan;<br />

d) To propose policies and actions concerning the promotion of sustainable economic<br />

development, enforcement of competiveness and cohesion of all country, it’s his<br />

competency:<br />

I. To undertake studies, researches and analyses necessaries to promote the<br />

development of a sustainable economic;<br />

II. To organise and keep an update social-economic statistic file;<br />

III. To undertake strategic plans actions in order of economics, socials, publics and<br />

private sectors;<br />

IV. To supervise and coordinate cooperation between the ministers;<br />

e) To propose and execute policies, legislation and programs to expand the private and<br />

cooperative sectors in order to promote the creation of new economics opportunities,<br />

especially in rural areas;<br />

I. To publicise and support establishment and development of micro, small and<br />

medium enterprises, cooperatives and non-profit organisations;<br />

II. To promote training, orientation, counselling and financial support to micro,<br />

small and medium enterprises, cooperatives and non-profit organisations;<br />

III. To publicise to the government and to the population the importance of the<br />

private sector, especially of the micro, small and medium enterprises and<br />

cooperatives;<br />

IV. To promote the development of a microfinance system and access to credit to<br />

promote the development of private sector;<br />

V. To organise and administrate cooperatives;<br />

VI. To promote and enforce the community entrepreneurship and support local<br />

development;<br />

VII. To promote adoption and commercialisation of environmental technologies and<br />

to promote expansion of healthy ecological business;<br />

VIII. To promote participation of groups less fortunate on the community<br />

development;<br />
