Sarah Claunch has opened the doors
of her own firm in Frisco. Claunch
Law, PLLC, is a fee office for Chicago
Title Insurance Company.
Lisa Collins, an employee relations
director at Baylor Health Care, recently
earned her SPHR certificate (Senior
Professional in Human Resources).
Lisa is also owner and CEO of two
online business ventures.
Darlina C. Crowder was profiled as a
2009 Texas Super Lawyer.
Angela Adkins Downes was a
presenter at the 2009 American
Bar Association annual meeting.
The session, “Beyond Best Interest:
Roles and Responsibilities of the
Children’s Attorney,” addressed the
role, responsibility and function of
the child victim attorney. Angela is
vice chair of the Criminal Justice
Section’s Victims Committee. The
American Bar Association annual
meeting is the largest meeting and
training for lawyers. Angela also
serves as the chair of the law school’s
20 th Anniversary Committee.
John McKinnon Fowler has become
a barrister in the Annette Stewart
American Inn of Court. John is a
principal in the Fowler Law Firm, 900
Jackson St., Suite 550, Dallas, Texas
75202, and resides in Oak Cliff with
his wife, Tori, and their two children,
Michael, 9, and Lilly, 7.
Joseph Hancock, M.D., has joined
Texas Tech as chief of gastroenterology,
hepatology and nutrition. He was
appointed to the editorial board of
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (GIE), the
American Society for Gastrointestinal

Why did you choose to attend Texas Wesleyan School of Law?
Location. When I was looking at law schools, my sister, who was attending Texas
Christian University at the time, recommended Texas Wesleyan. After a few visits to
Fort Worth, I was sold. You get “big city” perks with “small town” charm.
What makes you proud about graduating from Texas Wesleyan?
The law school’s progress. I’m proud of where Texas Wesleyan School of Law has been
and where it’s going. As a 1L, we had classes in the basement as construction was
under way on the upper floors. I remember listening to hammers banging as we took
final exams. By my 3L year, we had a beautiful library in the basement, a first floor with
trial and appellate courtrooms, and a second floor full of classrooms fit with the latest
technology. This year Texas Wesleyan School of Law is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The law school has come a long way in its 20 years, and I’m proud to be a part of its
progress.
Why do you choose to stay involved with the law school? What would you say or how
would you encourage others to get involved?
I believe a law school’s success goes hand-in-hand with its alumni’s success and
involvement. With this in mind, there’s an old adage that says “to leave it better than you
found it.” Texas Wesleyan School of Law provided me with a solid legal foundation that
opened many opportunities. As an involved alumna, I strive to ensure that similar and
additional opportunities are available to those who follow me.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love spending time outdoors with my husband and my two dogs, Coco (a Labrador)
and Maverick (a Golden Retriever). If we could go running and walking on Trinity Trails
or visit the dog park every day, I would be the happiest person on earth.

Douglas R. Johnson has formed
National Spay Neuter Awareness, Inc.,

a Texas nonprofit corporation that will
focus entirely on a national awareness
campaign regarding the importance
of spaying and neutering pets. The
Humane Society of the United States
estimates that 3 to 4 million dogs and
cats are euthanized each year in this
country. Countless more are killed
or maimed on the streets after being
abandoned. National Spay Neuter
Awareness will develop and air public
service educational messages on spay/
neuter, focusing on higher-end cable
