for the Tourism sector in the Budget Estimates<br />
<strong>2013</strong>-20<strong>14</strong>.<br />
92. This Government will set up a world class<br />
oceanarium at Mamallapuram at a cost of Rs.250 crores<br />
through the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development<br />
Corporation under Public-Private-Partnership with the<br />
technical support of the Fisheries Department. A new<br />
Field Fossil Museum will be established at Ariyalur at a<br />
cost of Rs.2 crores. These initiatives will further improve the<br />
tourism prospects in the State.<br />
TAMIL DEVELOPMENT<br />
93. This Government has allocated Rs.39.29 crores<br />
for the Tamil Development Department for the year<br />
<strong>2013</strong>-20<strong>14</strong>. A special grant of Rs.2 crores will be given<br />
to the Tamil University, Thanjavur, to improve the<br />
existing infrastructure.<br />
HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE<br />
94. Tamil Nadu has maintained its lead in various<br />
health parameters and it has been commended at various fora<br />
for its extra-ordinary efforts in creating a vibrant public health<br />
care system with effective birth and death registration,<br />
immunization, basic maternity services and an excellent school<br />
health programme. Rs.6,511.76 crores has been allocated in<br />
the Budget Estimates <strong>2013</strong>-20<strong>14</strong> for the health sector.
