spent by the State Health Society to implement this scheme.<br />
Focus on Non-Communicable Diseases under TNHSP<br />
99. The World Bank assisted Tamil Nadu Health<br />
Systems Project (TNHSP) is being implemented in the State<br />
from January 2005. Under TNHSP, a major Non<br />
Communicable Disease (NCD) intervention programme for<br />
Screening and Treatment of Cervical Cancer and Breast<br />
Cancer, Prevention and Control Programme for Cardio Vascular<br />
Diseases and Diabetes has been taken up. In 125 hospitals,<br />
round the clock Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and New<br />
born Care Services (CEMONC) have been established under<br />
this programme, besides establishing a web based Health<br />
Management Information System (HMIS) and Hospital<br />
Management System (HMS). Rs.117.93 crores has been<br />
allocated to implement TNHSP during <strong>2013</strong>-20<strong>14</strong>.<br />
100. Regional cancer centres have already been<br />
sanctioned to the Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai and<br />
Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Coimbatore. The<br />
Government has now decided to establish two more<br />
regional cancer centres in Thanjavur and Tirunelveli<br />
Medical College Hospitals at a total cost of Rs.30 crores.<br />
This Government will continue to strengthen health<br />
infrastructure at secondary and tertiary care levels. The<br />
operation theatres of the district headquarters hospitals<br />
and medical college hospitals will be strengthened<br />
during <strong>2013</strong>-20<strong>14</strong> at a cost of Rs.20 crores.
