Section 3 Migration Requirements This section gives an overview of the migration process from OS 2200 based LINC Deployment 16R3, also known as LINC II, to Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200. Pre-Migration Tasks Before you begin any migration task, you should ensure you do the following: 1. Install all the necessary software, which includes: • Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 • RDMS 2200 9R3 software on your OS 2200-based server, as required. • The latest Interim Correction of Developer 3.1A (see the Unisys support web site at http://www.support.unisys.com for the latest IC information) 2. Back up both your application and its data. 3. Consider all migration issues. See below. Migration Issues When migrating to Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200, you need to consider the following: Reserved Words If you are installing the new release of Host Builder 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200, and plan to migrate existing LINC Specifications, some of your existing item names could conflict with new reserved words. It is important that you run the new Reserved Words utility (see “Runtime Development Enhancements” on page 4–4) and check the list of potential reserved word conflicts in the SLD report from the installation process. Prior to performing any generates, address any reserved word conflicts by changing item names through the Dictionary Maintenance facility within Host Builder 3R1A. If conflicts are not addressed, you may receive errors during later generates. Use of KEYONLY; Commands KEYONLY; commands in LINC Deployment 16R3 were ignored, but migrating to Runtime 3R1A may alter the processing of any Ispecs containing these commands. 78616414–000 3–1
