Section 5 Restrictions and Known Limitations Restrictions on the use of Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 are listed in this section. System Restrictions Only Enterprise Application Systems generated using Host Builder 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 can be deployed on Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200. A user using Developer 3.1A and Host Builder 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 cannot generate until Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 is also installed. Therefore: • Runtime 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 requires Host Builder 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200. • Host Builder 3R1A for ClearPath OS 2200 cannot support LINC 16R2 or 16R3 Environments. The LINC Environments can, however, coexist on the same ClearPath OS 2200 server, but Developer 3.1A cannot generate and deploy to the old LINC 16R2 or 16R3 Environments. New Feature Restrictions Restrictions on XRLOAD (Relational Database Fast Load) 4R2 Support • XRLOAD 4R2 cannot be used for reloading data into a LINC Ispec when it is split into two or more tables (multi-table). It is an XRLOAD requirement that in such a case, RDMUTL would continue to be used. Before using XRLOAD 4R2, it is recommended that you read the XRLOAD User Guide. • XRLOAD 4R2 requires the use of between 9 and 102 extra pages in the storage-area. The extra number depends on page size. These extra pages are added to the page number calculation done in host Builder generations. To use XRLOAD 4R2 successfully, you may have to increase the population to force the creation of extra pages. As XRLOAD (Relational Database Fast Load) is an optional product, it is recommended, that you use XRLOAD 4R3 (or higher), which has no requirement for addition al pages. Restriction on the MULTREORG Feature When many small tables are being reorganized, there may be problems with using the multi-thread reorg feature. 78616414–000 5–1
