Concessions
The Concessions business of VINCI is divided into two main divisions, VINCI Autoroutes and VINCI
Concessions.
In Concessions, the immediate priority, as at the date of this Base Prospectus, is to integrate ANA and shape
the development of the newly enlarged VINCI Airports. The Group will also be expanding in its other areas
of business – including road and rail infrastructure, parking, stadiums and major public amenities – by
winning both new (greenfield) and existing (brownfield) concessions. Services to optimise the attractiveness
and operational efficiency of infrastructure in service will also help to sustain business activity. VINCI is
also working to consolidate its position as an integrator of expertise. It is already applying this approach to
many large infrastructure and building projects in France, and will, in the future, deploy it more widely
geographically and to ever larger projects.
In 2012, the Concession businesses represented a turnover of € 5,354 million and an operating profit from
ordinary activities of € 2,159 million corresponding to 40.3 per cent. of its turnover.
VINCI Autoroutes: Through four concession operating companies – ASF, Cofiroute, Escota and
Arcour – covering a network of 4,385 km under concession, VINCI Autoroutes serves the south
and west of France and represents half of France's total motorway network under concession. In
2012, VINCI Autoroutes’ motorways carry 2.2 million customers a day and have 1.7 million
electronic toll suscribers. Drivers cover 46 billion km annually on Vinci Autoroutes motorways,
representing almost 800 million toll transactions.
VINCI Concessions: The different businesses of VINCI Concessions are as follows:
- Airports: With the acquisition of ANA, VINCI Airports will substantially strengthen its presence in
the airport concession sector. The subsidiary, which will be managing 23 airports around the world
(10 in Portugal, 10 in France and 3 in Cambodia), will handle over 40 million passengers a year, 15
million of them at the Lisbon hub.
