LOCAL NEWS
We were very pleased to be able to
host our first evening Parent/Carer
event at Tickton Grange on 29 March
which was welcomed and well
supported by those parents unable to
attend the daytime functions. The format
was similar to daytimes but the pace
was a little faster. Topics included:
short breaks, School’s Out 2011, sport
and play development and meeting the
locality information officers.
We have been able to recruit new
members over the last couple of
months and we are hoping to be able to
hold some evening committee meetings
in the near future to include working
parent/carers in the work we are doing.
The news has been good from the
Government in that they have
committed to supporting and funding
Parent Participation for this year and for
the next couple of years so that ERVIP
can continue to work alongside the
ERVIP events

local authority and health service to
shape service provision. We will
continue to work with FISH to host two
parent/carer events a year.
In May we held a coffee morning drop in
at the Lairgate Hotel, Beverley which we
hope will be the first of this type of
event with more to follow around the
East Riding. We welcome parents to join
us on these days to exchange ideas in
relation to services for disabled children
in the East Riding. We are always looking
to extend our membership and no
special qualifications are necessary so
