This course is a continuation of Business English I. On the basis of the textbook:
Herbert Geisen, Dieter Hamblock, John Poziemski, Dieter Wessels, Englisch in
Wirtschaft und Handel (Berlin: Cornelsen & Oxford University Press, 2002) and with
the help of additional material the course will introduce further basic terminology and
concepts of business English.
Assessment/requirements: presentation, written end-of-term test or written
assignment at the end of the course.

This class is a continuation of Business English I, and participants should ideally
have completed Business English I before signing up for this class. A major focus of
the class will be on the world of work. Students will read and discuss newspaper
articles on such issues as gender equality in businesses and the impact of the
financial crisis on the labour market. We will also be dealing with recruitment and
forms of work. Other topics covered are retailing and marketing. Course materials will
be provided via Blackboard.
Assessment/requirements: various class assignments.
