Paper Beads Jewelry Workshop
Saturday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In Victorian times, women gathered in dining rooms to make beads by rolling
scraps of wallpaper on knitting needles. They would then string the beads on long
pieces of yarn to create curtains that separated rooms. We will make these beads
from recycled scrap paper, and string them together to make jewelry! Make your
own jewelry and other great stuff with these shiny paper beads. Kids will have fun
cutting out colorful pictures from old magazines to create beads that can be used
in almost any craft. Fees: $7. Held at Southeast Museum, 67 Main St, Brewster, NY.
Call to reserve your spot at call 845-279-7500 or visit www.southeastmuseum.org.
