Ask the Master Gardeners<br />

After a long cold winter the Master Gardeners and Horticulture Educators of<br />

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) return to the Cold Spring Farmers’ Market<br />

on Saturday June 1. While there on the grounds of the Boscobel House and<br />

Gardens at 1601 Route 9D, Garrison, NY 10524. Visitors can ask gardening and<br />

landscaping questions from CCE Educators and Master Gardeners, get answers<br />

about garden pests and plant problems, animal pests and more. Soil tests $5.00<br />

‘Plumfield, Iraq’<br />

June 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9<br />

The Brewster Theater Company presents “Plumfield, Iraq,” written by Barbara<br />

Lebow, is a powerful, mulit-media play which focuses on the effects of PTSD on a<br />

young soldier and everyone in his life. It will be performed at the Melrose School<br />

on Federal Hill Rd in Brewster on May 31, June 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9. Friday and Saturday<br />

performances are at 7:30, and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets are<br />

$15/$18 (service and credit card fees applicable) and are online at brewstertheater.<br />

org. Directed by Stacy Dumont and produced by Joe Beahm.<br />

Recycled Materials Art Children’s Workshop<br />

Saturday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.<br />

Help keep our town of Southeast NY beautiful. One way to protect our environment<br />

is to recycling. When we recycle and reuse we will also save the earth’s natural<br />

resources. Join us and help to beatify Southeast one craft at a time. Using a range of<br />

materials from colored paper to leather scraps, ribbon and fabric, participants will<br />

create a unique piece of art. All material is donated by local businesses who would<br />
