December 5: Women’s basketball junior Erin Kerner had a game-high 22 points while Mandy Pennewell scored 19 points as Quinnipiac topped St. Francis (N.Y.), 74-56, in the Bobcats’ NEC opener. December 6: Men’s basketball senior DeMario Anderson scored 25 points while also collecting 11 rebounds as Quinnipiac downs St. Francis (N.Y.), 90-79, in NEC opener. December 7: Eric Lampe, Ben Nelson, Mike Atkinson and David Marshall all scored as Quinnipiac defeated Robert Morris, 4-2. December 8: Women’s basketball senior Monique Lee picked up her second double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds as Quinnipiac beat La Salle, 65-64. Eric Lampe scored twice to lead men’s ice hockey to a 5-1 win over Robert Morris. December 9: Men’s indoor track junior Tyler Dinnan won the 5,000 Meter race at the Yale University Indoor Track Season Opener. Men’s basketball junior Brian Geffen scored a team-high 16 points as Quinnipiac defeated Army, 58-54. Women’s indoor track junior Lindsey Pierret also won the 5,000 Meter race at the Yale University Indoor Track Season Opener. December 10: Men’s basketball freshman Evann Baker won his second Choice Hotels/NEC Rookie of the Week award. Women’s basketball junior Erin Kerner was named the Choice Hotels/NEC Player of the Week. Men’s ice hockey senior Ben Nelson was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week. December 12: Men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa was named the NSCAA/North Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year. December 15: Men’s soccer junior Graciano Brito was named to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Men’s Division I All- American Second Team. December 16: Men’s soccer sophomore Freddy Hall received two NCAA Statistical Leader Awards after leading the country in saves per game and save percentage. December 18: Senior Leisl Lissfelt and sophomore Sara Lawlor were named to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association All-New England Division I Women’s Soccer Team. Women’s basketball junior Mandy Pennewell scored 18 points in a 59-49 win over the University of Delaware. December 19: Men’s basketball senior DeMario Anderson burned Dartmouth for 27 points in a 85-63 romp. December 21: Volleyball head coach Robin Lamott Sparks was selected as the Northeast Conference representative to the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Women’s Volleyball Division I Head Coaches Committee. December 22: Women’s basketball junior Erin Kerner scored a season-high 25 points to lead Quinnipiac to a 70- 60 win over Yale. December 28: Women’s basketball junior Mandy Pennewell scored a season-high 23 points as Quinnipiac defeated San Diego State, 78-59, in the San Diego Surf N’ Slam tournament. Pennewell and junior Brianna Rooney were named to the all-tournament team. December 30: After Kallie Flor tied the game to send it to overtime, Elyse Cole and Erika Bolognino scored in a shoot-out to knock off Niagara in the consolation game of the Nutmeg Classic. The game was recorded as a tie, 3-3. Men’s ice hockey junior Bud Fisher is named the Most Valuable Player of the University of Vermont’s Catamount Cup holiday tournament. Dan Travis and Jean-Marc Beaudoin were also named to the all-tournament team. JANUARY January 1: Women’s ice hockey junior Jamie Miller was named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week. January 3: Men’s basketball senior DeMario Anderson pumped in 19 points as the Bobcats beat Saint Francis (Pa.), 74-61. Elyse Cole scored the game-winner as the Bobcats beat Robert Morris, 2-1. Kelley Davis also scored in the win. January 4: Kallie Flor, Janine Duffy and Erika Bolognino all scored in a 3-1 win over Robert Morris. The win was the Bobcats’ second straight. January 5: Men’s basketball senior DeMario Anderson and women’s basketball junior Erin Kerner were named the Eli’s Restaurant/Quinnipiac Athletics December Athletes of the Month. January 6: Jean-Marc Beaudoin scored twice while Dan Henningson assisted on three goals as men’s ice hockey staged a come-from-behind win over Dartmouth, 5-3. January 7: Men’s basketball freshman Justin Rutty was named the Choice Hotels/NEC Rookie of the Week. January 10: Men’s basketball senior DeMario Anderson scored 21 points while pulling in seven rebounds as Quinnipiac defeated Mount St. Mary’s, 70-59. January 11: Men’s ice hockey ties their longest ECAC Hockey unbeaten streak, eight games, with a 6-3 drubbing of Dartmouth. The game is also Brandon Wong’s third straight multi-point game.
